New to Town

Are you new to Streator? Welcome to our town; we’re glad you are here and the city government is pleased to make your transition to Streator easier. As a new resident you will have many questions, from connecting new utility services, enrolling your child at school, getting access to various social services, finding a place of worship, getting around town, locating parks and shopping, and much more.

The city of Streator provides police, fire, street maintenance, street lighting, storm water maintenance and flood control, park facility maintenance, animal control, economic development, building inspection services, planning and zoning, residential solid waste collection, and sanitary sewage collection and treatment.

There are portions of five (5) public school districts inside the city limits of Streator:

The Streator area is also serviced by one private elementary school—St. Michael the Archangel School (grades K-8).
