Non-Highway Vehicles

***** Non-Highway Vehicles *****
The Streator Police Department has received and are actively investigating multiple complaints of non-highway vehicles illegally operating on city streets.
As of the time of this post and through our investigation efforts, several subjects have been identified and citations have been issued.
SPD will continue to rigorously investigate these complaints and apprehend violators, while balancing the safety of the public and officers.
SPD would like to remind everyone that:
It is unlawful for any person to drive or operate a non-highway vehicle upon any street, highway, or roadway in this State.
An additional reminder:
Any driver or operator of a motor vehicle who, having been given a visual or audible signal by a peace officer directing such driver or operator to bring his vehicle to a stop, wilfully fails or refuses to obey such direction, increases his speed, extinguishes his lights, or otherwise flees or attempts to elude the officer, is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
